APOSITION SAMPLER – is a compilation of selective works by Aposition Creative Union members Alexei Pliousnine and Dmitry Kahovsky. It produced and designed by Alexei Pliousnine.

This is the first vinyl issue of the APosition Creative Union’s label - Diafragma Records.

APosition Creative Union has 10 years of experience in organizing events, promoting noncommercial experimental art in St. Petersburg, Russia. APOSITION SAMPLER includes not only recent works but also tracks from 80-s and 90-s. Thus it is illustrating experimental, creative and avant-garde music development in St.Petersburg in last 20 years.

Musicians included in APOSITION SAMPLER have worked with Patti Smith, Peter Brotzmann, Keith Rowe, Eugene Chadbourne, Han Bennink, Burton Greene, Yanka, Yegor Letov, Henry Kaiser, Gary Lucas, Tim Hodgkinson, David Murray, Charles Gayle, Peter Principle, Shelly Hirsch, Phill Niblock, Hermeto Pascoal by the names of few.

Improvising free jazz in James Blood Ulmer, Art Ensemble of Chicago style. It demonstrates the unique talent of Lyudmila “Terry” Kolot. Classically trained and being a cult figure in late Soviet rock underground scene she has never been issued yet.

2. Song of Tuva Hero – by Otkun Dostay
1995, Otkun Dostay – vocal, ygil, bass drum, Mikhail Kolovsky – tuba, percussion, Dmitry Kahovsky – piccolo guitar, Oleg Shavkunov – percussion

A Tuva throat singer Otkun Dostay accompanied by free jazz Trio Z including later Auctyon tuba player and Akvarium percussionist.

Ygo is a synthesis of experimental music, video art and unique ancient Russian singing tradition "Znamenny Raspev" (Znamenny chant). One of the goals of the project is to familiarize the general public with the history and treasures of Russian Spiritual music and liturgical chant.
